Where you run into crowds: North side of 59th Street (bottom of Central Park) - mobbed on a Saturday afternoon; Rockefeller Center (thousands wonder why); the High Line (like a moving sidewalk); Union Square Greenmarket; Broadway in Times Square (where did all of those people go when the street wasn't closed?); Soho (always)
Where there are more crowds than you might expect: Sak's shoe dept; Upper-medium-end restaurants (e.g. Cookshop for Sunday brunch PACKED!, difficulty of getting a res at Rosa Mexicano); Butter Lane (a better cupcake worth waiting for, glad people realize it :); 14th Street between 9th and 10th (High Line spillover plus the occasional shopper/Sally Hershberger client); Bloomingdale's 59th amomng the cosmetics and expensive handbag maze; Bloomingdale's Soho (shoes on sale!);
Surprisingly accessible and worth doing (is it just before Labor Day?): Shake Shack uptown (salted caramel custard rocks); Barney's warehouse sale (sensing a retail therapy theme?); hopefully will have more to add to this after we find a great outdoor place for drinks tonight!

Over the last nine months
Here's a random sampling of happenings:
*I did get elected an officer by the board
*Butter Lane is a serious business, hooray! (weddings, NYTimes reviews, Martha Stewart Show)
*Had 9 work trips (Arizona, California, London, Boston, DC, Baltimore, Chicago, Toronto, plus Frankfurt/Paris/Milan/London)
*Had Feldenkrais, physical therapy, chiropractic, and acupuncture (ouch!) for jaw, back, neck (thanks for rear-ending us)
*Arthur's survived a cupcake consumption emergency and was diagnosed with a pretty bad case of "flycatcher" syndrome, which we are battling with some success
*Taken 3 vacations - St. Maarten, Godhouse CT (!), Adirondacks, plus a couple of weekends in Fire Island (love)
*Of the 4 construction sites within 1 block of our apartment, one is almost complete, another has been halted since they finished the foundation months ago, two remain empty
*Been on the High Line 5 times (twice in one day)
