and here I am making discs to store my photos etc.
Definitely the first time I've had to do that - usually it's about keeping the right files, getting rid of the rest.
I have a sense of calm, it came maybe yesterday, at last. and can't keep the smile off my face. why is the leaving so sweet? and the starting so nervewracking? a colleague at DealerTrack said that "the time between jobs when you know you are going to a new one is the sweetest most relaxing time there is." is it wrong that I am already preparing to be anxious about starting? and yet probably being open and relaxed is the best thing I could possibly be.

Hope I didn't make a mistake
Someone had offered to introduce me to the management of DemandTech, a fast-growing technology provider for the retail industry. I declined because I had something else in process, and I was a bit iffy about the move to SF (and then commuting to the valley). Now that they finally have coverage initiated and put out nice Q2 results, their stock has soared from less than $11 in mid-September to $18 today. Can't get my limit order to execute, it was too low (and probably still is). What is with this market???!

The odds are...
-that i'll only be in a job for 2 years (5 of 7)
-that i'll change jobs in fall
-that i'll be in better shape working in the city rather than sitting in a car for 90 minutes a day to get to long island
-that my new job will neither be as great as I hope or as bad as I fear

May or June, I don't recall
Blades of Glory - Oscar potential abounds. Kidding.

What happened since May?
Well, summer I suppose. It's been 6 months since I touched this blog in more than a cursory way. Strange how time can fall away from you and then you look back and think "what did i do? who was I? have I learned or done anything?" Terrifying thought pattern.
So now it's October and after a summer of plenty of work and some nice relaxing summer weekends, fall is here, apples have already been picked, and lots of change is in the air.
